Liposuction 360 Sarasota

LIPOSUCTION 360 SARASOTA

The hips, waist, and lower back are some of the most common problem areas. Unwanted fat often accumulates in these areas due to factors such as genetics, having children, and gaining or losing weight. Weight in this area sometimes is disproportionate to the rest of the body. For example, a patient may have little fat in their arms or calves, yet find that they cannot lose weight in the tummy. Dr. Sessa adapts liposuction–a well known cosmetic surgery–to treat this entire band of troublesome fat during a procedure known as liposuction 360. Dr. Alberico Sessa at Sarasota Surgical Arts performs the best liposuction 360 Sarasota offers.

OVERVIEW: WHAT IS LIPO 360?

Liposuction 360, colloquially called lipo 360, uses traditional liposuction across the abdomen, waist, love handles, and lower back to enhance the contours of the body. Nearly anyone who can benefit from liposuction of the stomach could likely benefit from liposuction 360. It gets its name because it treats 360 degrees of the body.

Choosing 360-degree liposuction instead of only abdomen liposuction can improve the results. Patients who carry extra weight in the abdomen may have small pockets of extra fat in the love handles and back. Only removing the excess fat in the abdomen will still leave behind fat pockets in the back and hips. Consequently, this can affect the overall body contour.

Each Sarasota liposuction procedure that Dr. Sessa performs is fully customized to fit the patient and their goals. Liposuction 360 also complements many other cosmetic and body contouring procedures like a tummy tuck and breast augmentation.

Areas Included

The actual body areas that liposuction 360 will target can vary from person to person based on their unique anatomy. For instance, some patients may carry more weight in the love handles versus their back. Therefore, the procedure may feature different areas for each patient. In general, when performing 360 lipo of the body, Dr. Sessa may treat the following body areas:

  • Abdomen
  • Waist
  • Flanks
  • Lower Back

Dr. Sessa may also treat the hips and mid-back depending on the needs of the patient and their goals. Additionally, the extent of the liposuction may vary based on how much fat exists in each given area.

The above areas constitute the most frequently treated areas for liposuction 360. However, the term refers to any time liposuction is performed completely around a body part. For example, 360 lipo of the thighs is when liposuction encompasses the circumference of the leg.

LIPOSUCTION vs. TUMMY TUCK

When determining the best procedure to take care of the belly, the two frequently considered are liposuction and a tummy tuck. Both can dramatically improve the contours of the abdomen and achieve a flat stomach. However, the two surgeries treat different causes of a protruding belly.

First off, Dr. Sessa may perform liposuction, or remove fat during a tummy tuck surgery. However, the main purpose of a tummy tuck is to remove extra and loose skin on the abdomen. Usually, this extra skin is a result of pregnancy or losing weight. A tummy tuck also often repairs diastasis recti, a condition where the muscles of the abdomen separate. Liposuction cannot either of these issues.

Liposuction only addresses extra fat. Some forms of liposuction such as laser liposuction can promote skin tightening. If a patient requires a tummy tuck, they will still have extra skin left following liposuction. Therefore, many patients who come in for liposuction may end up undergoing a tummy tuck.

Dr. Sessa can perform a tummy tuck as part of a larger liposuction 360 procedure. This procedure often yields a better result for patients with extra skin than liposuction alone. At a consultation, Dr. Sessa will examine your anatomy to determine if liposuction, a tummy tuck, or a combination of both would best suit you.

BEFORE AND AFTER 360 LIPOSUCTION

Consultation

The first step to undergoing liposuction 360 in Sarasota is to schedule a consultation with Dr. Sessa at Sarasota Surgical Arts. At the consultation, Dr. Sessa can determine whether you are a good candidate for the procedure.

First, he will discuss your motivations and goals for the procedure. Next, he will review your medical history to evaluate your surgical risk. Finally, Dr. Sessa will physically examine your abdomen. At this point, he will determine if you are a candidate for liposuction 360.

Dr. Sessa will customize a surgical plan based on your goals and anatomy. He will explain the procedure and the results you could realistically expect. Before you leave the office, you will receive a price quote for the procedure and financing information.

Preparation

Once you book liposuction surgery with Dr. Sessa, you will attend a pre-operative appointment and receive instructions for before surgery. This will include how to prepare hours before surgery as well as preparations weeks before surgery. For example, Dr. Sessa may request you stop blood thinners or medications with this effect a week or two before surgery.

You may need to obtain certain medical clearances before surgery. It is also recommended that you make logistical arrangements such as time off work, childcare, and lodging, if necessary. Dr. Sessa offers many resources for out of town patients.

Surgery

For surgery, a licensed anesthesia provider will place you under general anesthesia. Depending on the specifics of your procedure, Dr. Sessa may use a laser or tumescent fluid to break up the fat. This makes the process easier and more effective.

Dr. Sessa will then make a small incision for the liposuction cannula. The incisions are tiny and hidden in the natural creases of the body, and often where undergarments normally cover. Inserting the liposuction cannula, he will gently move it back and forth to remove the fat. He will repeat this for each treatment area around the body. Once finished, Dr. Sessa will stitch the incisions carefully.

Recovery

When you wake up from surgery, you may notice a difference in the contours of your body. In the next few days, this may become distorted by swelling and bruising. Dr. Sessa may provide a compression garment to promote good results, reduce swelling, and keep you more comfortable. You will need to wear this constantly at first and will slowly reduce how much you wear it throughout recovery.

Dr. Sessa may also prescribe pain medication or antibiotics. Pain and side effects should subside within a couple of weeks. Patients can usually return to work in about a week. Other strenuous activities can resume at Dr. Sessa’s okay. Every patient heals differently and therefore it is important not to return to exercise and similar activities too quickly.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

What Happens If You Gain Weight After Liposuction?

Fats cells removed with liposuction cannot come back and are gone forever. However, this does mean that you cannot gain weight or fat back into the treated areas. Liposuction will not remove all the fat in a given area. Therefore, the fat cells still present in the area can expand and reverse liposuction results. This is why it is important to continue living a healthy and active lifestyle following 360 liposuction in Sarasota.

Is It Safe?

Liposuction 360 is an extremely safe surgery. Along with relatively few risks, Dr. Sessa has performed liposuction for over a decade. He continues to carry out multiple lipo procedures every week.

When Can I Expect Results Following Lipo 360?

Even after you heal and recover from liposuction 360, your results will take some time to settle in. Your skin and tissues need to move into their new positions and residual swelling dissipate. This usually takes around nine months to one year.

It is not uncommon for patients to see satisfactory results before this nine month window. Changes often become more subtle once you discontinue the use of the compression garment. Dr. Sessa will continue to monitor your progress.

Will A BBL Enhance Results?

Patients undergoing liposuction 360 may benefit from further enhancement with a Brazilian butt lift. This procedure takes the liposuctioned fat and transfers it into the buttocks for a fuller, lifted look. A BBL can accentuate the results of a lipo 360 surgery and put the fat removed to good use.

Can Men Get 360 Liposuction?

Yes, while women tend to store more fat along the lower abdomen, men can certainly benefit from a 360 liposuction procedure. It is also commonly performed to address the chest or gynecomastia. As an example, Dr. Sessa may perform liposuction on the chest and back for a more toned and masculine physique.

How Much Does It Cost?

The cost of liposuction 360 will vary depending on the number of areas you are treating and if you are adding a fat transfer procedure like a BBL. You can find our starting prices on our price list.
